Schools & Early Years Workshops
I run a number of workshops aimed at primary school-aged children. These workshops explore literacy through a variety of engaging and fun activities. I'm really happy to discuss potential collaborations.
Previous workshops include 'Painting with Words: Exploring Poetry Through Pictures', 'Writing Intergenerational Oral Histories', 'You Can Write Poems!' and 'Collecting Nature Poems'
I also work with schools and nurseries in East Renfrewshire Council and Glasgow City Council as well as outdoor education settings such as Woodland Outdoor Kindergarten in Glasgow.
Testimonial

"Kirsty was a knowledgable and exciting visitor for our learners. She pitched at the perfect level to engage, educate and inspire. We all felt excited about poetry after she left and will be able to use her creative ideas in our teaching."

Write Like a Grrrl
I am the Glasgow tutor for Write like a Grrrl Writing Lab.

Write like a Grrrl is a collective of writers who are passionate about supporting marginalised genders to develop their writing craft and confidence.

We work collectively to encourage our students’ confidence and creativity in a patriarchal society which would prefer us voiceless. We will not be silenced. A word after a word is power.

"Write Like a Grrrl has been transformative and inspiring. In a cosy happy environment, I have been given structure, confidence and community. Kirsty lit a creative spark every week and equipped us with the tools to write, to put ideas to paper and to work with our inner critic."

Participatory Workshops
I love working with charities and community interest projects; especially if we're using words to explore aspects of place and belonging.

Previous projects include conservation, historical preservation and community investment.

I have worked with:
The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow Life, Squamish Public Library, Scottish Mental Health Foundation, Southside Wellbeing Festival and The Barn Multi-Arts Centre.
